The Department of Radiology performs important procedures for diagnosing and monitoring diseases using various imaging techniques.

The Department of Radiology is at the heart of modern diagnosis and treatment planning. With advanced imaging technologies such as Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computed Tomography (CT), Ultrasonography, and X-ray, doctors can examine the body’s internal structures in detail. These methods provide critical insights into the condition of organs and tissues, ensuring accurate diagnosis and effective follow-up.

Procedures Performed in Liv Hospital Radiology Department

At Liv Hospital, patients are cared for by experienced radiology specialists supported by cutting-edge technology. Our department not only provides high-quality imaging but also offers a wide range of image-guided procedures that support precise diagnosis and improve treatment outcomes.

Biopsy

For the diagnosis of cancer and other diseases, obtaining a tissue sample is often essential. At Liv Hospital, biopsies are performed under imaging guidance such as CT and ultrasound, ensuring maximum safety and accuracy. The collected tissue is then examined in our pathology laboratory to establish a definitive diagnosis.

TACE / Chemoembolization

In patients with liver tumors who are not candidates for surgery, TACE is a highly effective option. This minimally invasive procedure involves blocking the blood vessels that feed the tumor while directly delivering high-dose chemotherapy to the affected area.

  • Increases treatment effectiveness

  • Reduces systemic side effects

  • Performed in a specialized angiography suite

Enhances both quality and length of life

Radiofrequency Ablation

RFA is a minimally invasive technique used to destroy tumors. With the help of CT or ultrasound, an umbrella-shaped needle is guided into the tumor, and the tissue is destroyed using heat energy.

  • Conducted under light anesthesia

  • Patients usually return home the next day

A valuable alternative for patients unsuitable for surgery

Opening Bile and Urinary Tract Obstructions

During cancer treatment, blockages may develop in the bile ducts or urinary tract. These can be serious, potentially life-threatening, and may interrupt ongoing therapy. Interventional radiology procedures to relieve these obstructions:

  • Allow continuation of treatment

  • Improve patient comfort and quality of life

  • Prevent severe complications
