Enjoying Your New Look Forever

Plastic surgery is a significant emotional and financial investment in yourself. While our surgeons craft the change, maintaining that change is a lifelong partnership between you and your lifestyle. Plastic surgery results are rarely “permanent” in the sense that they stop time; aging continues, and gravity never sleeps. However, with the right care strategy, the benefits of a facelift, tummy tuck, or breast lift can last for decades.

At Liv Hospital, we provide our international patients with a “Long-Term Aesthetics Plan.” This guide ensures that the confidence you feel leaving our hospital is the same confidence you feel looking in the mirror ten years later.

When Will I See the Final Result?

Zygoma (Cheekbone) Reduction

One of the hardest parts of recovery is patience. It is crucial to distinguish between “healed” and “final.”

  • The “Socially Presentable” Phase (2–3 Weeks): Bruising has faded, and incisions have closed. You can go to dinner or return to work with makeup, but you are still swollen.
  • The “Settling” Phase (3–6 Months): About 80% of the swelling has resolved. This is when breast implants “drop and fluff” into their natural pocket, and the waistline from a tummy tuck becomes defined.
  • The “Final Result” (1 Year+): This is the true outcome. For Rhinoplasty specifically, the tip of the nose may retain subtle swelling for up to 12–18 months. We advise patients not to judge their final nose until this milestone is reached.

The Art of Scar Management

Scarring is an inevitable part of surgery, but a visible scar is not. Liv Hospital employs a multi-tiered “Scar Protocol” to ensure incision lines fade into near-invisibility.

Our 3-Step Protocol:

  1. Silicone Therapy (Months 1–3): We provide medical-grade silicone sheets or gels. Silicone creates a micro-environment that hydrates the scar and regulates collagen production, preventing raised (keloid) scars.
  2. Laser Resurfacing (Month 6): If a scar remains red or textured, we invite patients to return (or visit a local provider) for Fractional Laser treatment, which breaks down the scar tissue and blends it with the surrounding skin.
  3. Stem Cell Injection: For difficult scars, injection of the patient’s own stem cells can regenerate healthy skin tissue within the scar line.

Protecting Your Investment: Lifestyle Matters

Plastic surgery can contour the body, but it cannot fix metabolism. To maintain your results, stability is key.

  • Weight Fluctuations: A Tummy Tuck or Liposuction removes fat cells permanently from specific areas. However, if you gain significant weight (10kg+), the remaining fat cells will expand, potentially creating “lumpy” or disproportionate areas. We recommend being at a stable goal weight for 6 months before surgery and maintaining it after.
  • Sun Protection: The sun is the enemy of a Facelift. UV rays break down collagen and elastin, reversing the tightening effects of surgery. Daily SPF 50 is non-negotiable.
  • Nicotine: Smoking after a Facelift or Breast Lift will accelerate skin aging and sagging, undoing the surgeon’s work much faster than normal.

Non-Surgical Maintenance

Surgery sets the foundation; non-surgical treatments maintain the house. We recommend a “maintenance schedule” to prolong surgical results.

  • Botox & Fillers: Using Botox prevents the dynamic wrinkles (like frown lines) from re-etching themselves into the skin after a facelift.
  • Skin Quality Boosters: Surgery tightens loose skin, but it doesn’t fix texture or pores. Treatments like Mesotherapy or Salmon DNA injections keep the skin “canvas” glowing and hydrated.
  • Breast Implant Monitoring: While modern silicone implants are designed to last a lifetime, we recommend an MRI or Ultrasound check-up every 5–10 years to ensure shell integrity.

Remote Monitoring: We Are Still With You

Distance does not dissolve our responsibility. Liv Hospital’s International Patient Tracking System ensures you are never managing your recovery alone.

  • Photo Check-Ins: You will be asked to upload photos to our secure portal at specific intervals (1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year). Your surgeon reviews these to track healing and symmetry.
  • Video Consultations: If you have a concern—for example, if one breast looks higher than the other at month 3—we schedule a video call. Often, this is just normal asymmetric healing, and reassurance from your surgeon saves you a panic.
  • Local Partners: If a physical intervention is needed (e.g., draining a small fluid collection), we can often coordinate with partner physicians in major US or European cities, or guide your local GP.

Our Revision Policy: Your Peace of Mind

Fear of a “botched” result is the #1 barrier to medical tourism. Liv Hospital stands behind its work with a transparent Revision Policy.

While we cannot guarantee subjective happiness (e.g., “I wish I chose a bigger implant”), we do guarantee surgical quality.

  • Corrective Surgery: In the rare event of a surgical complication (like an implant malposition or asymmetry beyond normal limits) occurring within the first year, Liv Hospital covers the surgeon’s fees and hospital costs for the corrective procedure.
  • Transparency: This policy is explained in detail and signed during your consultation, so you know exactly what is covered before you fly.
How long do facelift results last?

A facelift typically turns back the clock by about 10 years. As you age, you will always look younger than you would have without the surgery, with results generally lasting 10 to 15 years.

The fat cells removed during liposuction are gone permanently, but if you gain significant weight, the remaining fat cells in other areas of your body can expand, altering your proportions.

Many women can breastfeed after breast reduction surgery. Still, because some milk ducts may be removed or damaged, there is a possibility of reduced milk supply, so it is not guaranteed.

No scar disappears completely, but with proper care and time, they typically fade to a thin, pale line that is difficult to see; their visibility depends largely on genetics and surgical technique.

Yes, it is safe to have multiple procedures over a lifetime as long as you are in good general health and allow adequate recovery time between surgeries to let your body heal fully.
