Liv Hospital’s Prof. Dr. Mehmet Murat Öncel Inducted into the Retina Hall of Fame
Liv Hospital proudly celebrates a historic achievement as our esteemed Ophthalmology Specialist, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Murat Öncel, has been honored with induction into the Retina Hall of Fame (RHOF)”an exclusive international society recognizing only the most distinguished retinal specialists worldwide.
Founded in 2016, the Retina Hall of Fame acknowledges the lifelong contributions of physicians who have advanced clinical, surgical, and scientific practices in the field of retina. Each year, only a select group of doctors are chosen, and Prof. Dr. Öncel now joins this prestigious circle as one of only three physicians from Türkiye ever to receive this honor”an accomplishment that reflects both national and international pride.
Prof. Dr. Öncel’s recognition is the result of his groundbreaking work in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases, as well as his unwavering dedication to innovation and excellence in ophthalmology. His career has not only influenced patient care globally but has also helped shape the future of retinal research and treatment.
The official award presentation and membership plaque will be bestowed upon Prof. Dr. Öncel during the American Retina Congress on August 1, 2025, in Long Beach, California.
