At Liv Hospital, we take great pride in announcing that our esteemed Ophthalmology Specialist, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Murat Öncel, has achieved a remarkable international milestone. He has been inducted into the Retina Hall of Fame (RHOF) – an honorary society that includes only the most distinguished retinal specialists in the world.

Established in 2016, the Retina Hall of Fame honors lifelong achievements of physicians who have pioneered clinical, surgical, and scientific advancements in the field of retina. Only a limited number of doctors are selected each year, and Prof. Dr. Öncel is one of only three physicians from Türkiye to be included in this prestigious group – an accomplishment that brings great pride to our country.

Prof. Dr. Öncel has earned this recognition through his internationally respected contributions to the diagnosis and treatment of retinal diseases. His commitment to innovation and excellence has placed him among the global leaders in ophthalmology.

The official award and membership plaque will be presented to Prof. Dr. Öncel during a formal ceremony at the American Retina Congress on August 1, 2025, in Long Beach, California.
