Diagnosis and Imaging
Diagnosing a Neurocognitive disorder requires a comprehensive clinical assessment. Physicians begin with a thorough medical history and physical exam to rule out reversible causes like vitamin deficiencies, thyroid problems, or infections. Brief cognitive screening tools, such as the Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) or the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA), are used to objectively measure cognitive performance.
