Maintenance and Results

The Importance Of Continued Facial Surveillance

The successful completion of a Face Aesthetics procedure is the beginning of a lifelong commitment to facial health. The final success of the treatment is determined by how well the results are maintained over the decades. Rehabilitation transitions into long term surveillance, ensuring that minor changes in weight or skin quality do not compromise the surgical repair. At Liv Hospital, we provide our patients with the tools and knowledge needed to protect their physical integrity for a lifetime. Success is not just about the immediate visual change, but about regaining the “biological confidence” to live a full and active life.

Lifestyle Engineering For Long Term Dermal Stability

Facial Augmentation

Long term maintenance involves re-engineering your daily habits to favor the stability of the facial tissues.

  • Maintaining a stable weight to prevent changes in the appearance of fat grafts.
  • Engaging in regular cardiovascular exercise to support systemic and skin health.
  • Utilizing high quality skin care routines to maintain the elasticity of the facial skin.

These foundational habits provide the low stress environment your face needs to remain resilient as you age. At Liv Hospital, we believe in a partnership for your long term wellness.

Nutritional Support For Tissue Integrity Following Face Aesthetics

What you eat acts as the maintenance crew for your new facial structure. A healthy diet supports the success of any Facial Aesthetics intervention.

  • High intake of antioxidants and proteins to fight skin aging and support tissue repair.
  • Maintaining proper hydration to keep the skin supple and the tissue healthy.
  • Avoiding excessive sodium to prevent temporary fluid retention that can affect facial contours.

Our clinical dietitians can help you design an eating plan that supports your recovery and overall physical vitality for years to come.

Advanced Long-Term Scar Management

While most incisions are hidden, the health of the skin surface is vital for a natural look.

  • Consistent use of broad spectrum sunscreen to prevent pigment changes.
  • Protecting the facial area from UV exposure to prevent collagen degradation.
  • Professional observation of the skin’s texture during annual check ups.

By identifying these environmental risks, the team at Liv Hospital helps you preserve your surgical results from premature aging and sagging.

Maintaining Muscular And Skeletal Alignment

Because the surgery changes the tension of the facial soft tissue, it is vital to monitor your posture.

  • Practicing proper ergonomic sitting and standing habits to support the spine.
  • Avoiding repetitive excessive jaw pressure that could stress internal markers.
  • Choosing supportive pillows to maintain a healthy head position during rest.

These habits ensure that your skeletal frame is resilient and ready to support your daily activities. We provide the expertise you need to protect your physical integrity.

Phased Follow-Up Assessments and Monitoring

Regular check-ups are non-negotiable for anyone who has undergone a major facial reconstruction.

  • Annual physical exams to assess the integrity of the muscle and skin repair.
  • Periodic reviews of the skin’s elasticity and overall appearance.
  • Long term monitoring of facial sensation and nerve function.

Consistency with this schedule is vital. By keeping a close eye on the physical and visual progression, our team at Liv Hospital can intervene early if any minor changes occur.

Facial Augmentation

Avoiding Harmful Biological Triggers For Facial Aging

Maintaining the results of your treatment requires avoiding substances that damage the skin and glandular health.

  • Smoking: Severely restricts blood flow and degrades collagen, leading to skin sagging.
  • Excessive Alcohol: Can lead to weight fluctuations and dehydration of the dermal layers.
  • Harsh Facial Treatments: Avoiding unregulated chemical peels that could irritate thin skin.

Clinicians at Liv Hospital prioritize education on these risks, helping you make choices that protect your physical integrity and visual health.

Sleep Hygiene and Recovery Synchronization

The body does its most intense repair work while we sleep. During your long term journey, your sleeping habits matter more than ever.

  • Maintaining a regular sleep wake cycle to support hormonal balance.
  • Ensuring the bedroom is a “zero-distraction” zone to improve rest quality.
  • Using ergonomic pillows to maintain a comfortable sleeping position on the back.

Proper rest allows the immune system to focus its energy on tissue maintenance and cell repair, ensuring you wake up feeling refreshed rather than stiff.

Psychological Well-Being and Social Confidence

Living with a new facial silhouette can be a significant emotional transition.

  • Celebrate small milestones, like the first time you feel confident in photos.
  • Stay connected with support groups of others who have undergone similar journeys.
  • Practice patience; understand that full biological remodeling is a slow process that matures over a year.

A positive mental outlook is a powerful force that improves the overall quality of your health journey. Our staff is always available to provide the emotional reassurance you need.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Will the implants need to be replaced?

Facial implants are solid and durable. Unlike breast implants, they do not have a shell that can rupture or leak. They are designed to be permanent and typically do not need to be replaced unless you want to change the size or if an infection occurs.

There is a phenomenon called bone resorption, where the pressure of the implant causes a slight indentation in the underlying bone. This is usually minor, self-limiting, and does not affect the stability of the implant or the health of the bone in the vast majority of cases.

Yes, absolutely. In fact, having facial implants often improves the results of a future facelift. The implants provide a strong structure for the facelift to redrape the skin over, usually leading to a more defined, longer-lasting result.

After the initial healing period (about 6 weeks), the implants are very stable. However, a severe trauma that would break a natural bone could also shift an implant or damage the surrounding tissue. You should protect your face during contact sports.

The grafted fat becomes part of your facial tissue. It will age at the same rate as the rest of your face. It does not sag any more than your natural fat would. Gravity eventually affects all tissues, but the added volume generally keeps the face looking younger for longer.
